MUSHRA (Multiple Stimulus with Hidden Reference and Anchor) is an audio engineering software developed in 2005 to evaluate the difference in quality between a number of audio sources and is widely used in the audio industry.

CI-MUSHRA was adapted from the MUSHRA program, which is widely used in the audio industry. The CI-MUSHRA test has been defined as a reliable, useful, objective and adaptable measurement tool that can be used to evaluate sound quality perception in individuals with normal hearing and cochlear implant users.

TR-MUSHRA, prepared in 2019, is a version of the MUSHRA application adapted for cochlear implant users whose native language is Turkish. TR-MUSHRA has a user interface and instructions designed in Turkish, strictly adhering to the MUSHRA model. The TR-MUSHRA (Multiple Stimulus with Hidden Reference and Anchor for Turkish People) test is designed to provide a more quantitative assessment by limiting the effect of subjectivity found in existing assessment methods.

The software can investigate the effect of any acoustic parameter that plays a role in the perception of sound quality. As seen in the image below, in TR-MUSHRA, participants listen to different sound samples and give a score for each of them on a number scale between 0 and 100, while comparing them with the original signal according to their sound quality levels.
