The 22nd Annual Conference and Exhibition of the British Academy of Audiology (BAA) takes place on 29–30 October 2026 at ACC Liverpool, part of the Liverpool Experience Campus (LEX) on the city's waterfront.
The BAA is the largest association of hearing and balance professionals in the United Kingdom. Its membership extends beyond the UK and covers specialists delivering hearing healthcare in both public and private settings. The Academy aims to support professional development, set quality benchmarks and strengthen audiology as an autonomous profession.
The annual conference is the largest meeting in the UK audiology calendar. The 21st conference, held in Telford in 2025, drew around 600 delegates and more than 50 exhibiting companies and organisations.
Opening: Thursday 29 October at 09:00 in the main auditorium. Badge collection: 16:00–19:00 on Wednesday 28 October, 08:00 on Thursday 29 October, 08:15 on Friday 30 October.
The 2026 programme features keynote presentations from thought leaders shaping the future of audiology, invited talks from clinicians, researchers and educators, free papers selected from submitted abstracts, and an industry insights track from the Academy's partners.
Free papers and posters are a core part of the conference. Submissions for 2026 were handled through Oxford Abstracts; the announced deadline was Friday 31 July 2026 and submission has now closed.
For scale: in 2025 the Academy accepted 88 abstracts, of which 7 were selected for free paper presentations. The Academy also presents the BAA Early Clinical Researcher Award in support of early-career researchers.
Posters from previous years can be viewed on the BAA abstracts page.
The conference is organised by the British Academy of Audiology, which is run by a Managing Board made up entirely of volunteers from within the profession.
2026 keynote speakers include Professor Barbara Weinstein (Adrian Davis Lecture). The programme also includes the Bamford Paediatric Lecture and a number of invited talks; the full line-up is updated on the official programme page.
2026 official sponsors: Danalogic GN, Diatec, Oticon and Otometrics.
