Description

This checklist was developed to assess the social-language (pragmatic) skills of children with hearing loss. It comprises 45 items in total, and responses are recorded using 4-point Likert-type categories (does not yet do it; without using words; using 1 to 3 words; using complex language). It is administered based on information from the family (parent report) and has a single-factor structure.

Measured Properties

Social communication (pragmatic language) skills of children with hearing loss; language use in social contexts such as expressing emotions, making requests, giving reasons, and stating opinions.

Target Population

Children aged 2;0–6;11 with typical development and hearing loss (assessed by parent report).
