The Test of Early Language Development (TEDİL) is the Turkish- and Turkish-culture-adapted version of the assessment tool originally titled "Test of Early Language Development-Third Edition (TELD-3)." The test was developed to assess the early verbal language development of children aged 2–7. Its main aims are to identify children who are markedly behind their peers in language development, to determine an individual's linguistic strengths and weaknesses, and to guide a possible therapy program.
The test measures the three core components of language: semantics, morphology and syntax. This assessment is carried out through two subtests: Receptive Language and Expressive Language.
