The Turkish Expressive and Receptive Language Test (TİFALDİ) is an original language test developed directly on the basis of Turkish rather than adapted from another language. This article addresses the development, standardization, validity and reliability processes of the test's "Receptive Language Vocabulary Subtest." This subtest was designed to assess the receptive vocabulary of children aged 2–12. Norm data were collected from a large sample representative of Türkiye, and the test was proven to be a reliable and valid measurement tool for children in this age range.
This subtest measures, among receptive language skills, specifically vocabulary knowledge. During administration, the child is shown four pictures and asked to point to the picture corresponding to the target word spoken by the examiner.
